Good to know before the big day
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests open Spekto in their browser using the QR code or link. They don't need an account. You, as the organiser, sign in.
Do we need a big screen?
No. The photo feed works beautifully on your phones the whole way through. A TV or projector is an optional extra for when you want to enjoy the photos together.
What happens to the photos afterwards?
Photos are stored for 3 months with Spekto or 12 months with Pro, from the event date. Download your memories before the period ends – then everything is deleted.
Can we choose what is shown?
Yes. You can turn on approval, so contributions are approved before they appear. And guests always choose what they take or upload themselves – Spekto never has automatic access to anyone's camera roll.
How many photos can guests take?
Unlimited. There is no cap on photos, videos, or guests. We've had weddings with over 500 photos — all appearing in real time in the feed and on the big screen.
Can guests upload video, not just photos?
Yes. Guests can upload both photos and video — up to 100 MB per file — straight from their phone, no app required. Video appears in the feed and on the big screen alongside photos, and is included in the ZIP download.
What if someone uploads an inappropriate photo?
Spekto has AI moderation that automatically flags inappropriate content — photos, video, text and audio. You can also enable pre-approval so you review everything before it goes live. Perfect for staying in full control on your wedding day.
How do we get the photos afterwards?
Download all photos, videos and voice messages as a ZIP in one click — including a complete HTML gallery you can open offline. Photos are stored for 3 months after the event date (12 months with Spekto Pro). You'll get a reminder 30 days before they expire.
Can we customise the look to match our wedding?
Yes! With Spekto Pro you choose the wedding theme, which gives you elegant colours, subtle animations and a romantic feel. You can also upload your own logo and choose custom colours. Everything matches your wedding.
Can guests find photos they're in?
Yes, with MagicFind (Spekto Pro). Guests take a selfie and Spekto automatically finds photos they appear in — among hundreds of guest photos, with no searching or scrolling. The selfie itself isn't stored, only a mathematical representation is used for matching.
Does it work without WiFi at the venue?
Yes. Guests use mobile data to upload photos — it uses very little data. The big screen display needs internet, but works fine over mobile data. Tip: use a phone as a hotspot for the laptop.
Does Spekto work for international guests?
Yes. Spekto is available in English, Norwegian and German, and guestbook recordings are automatically transcribed regardless of the language spoken. Perfect for weddings with international guests.
