Wondering about something?
Do guests need to download an app?+
No. Guests scan the QR code and open Spekto in their browser. They don't need an account. You, as the organiser, sign in.
Do we need a TV or projector?+
No. Guests can share and view photos on mobile the whole time. A big screen is an extra option when you want to show the photos together.
What happens to the photos afterwards?+
Photos are available for 3 months with Spekto and 12 months with Pro, from the event date. Download your memories before the storage period ends – then everything is deleted.
Who decides which photos are shared?+
Guests choose what they take or upload themselves. Spekto never has automatic access to a camera roll. As organiser, you can turn on approval for contributions.
What happens when the storage period ends?+
You'll receive a reminder 30 days before. Download all photos, videos and voice messages as a ZIP with one click — including a complete HTML gallery you can open offline. The storage period runs from the event date: 3 months, or 12 months with Spekto Pro. After that, data is deleted from our servers.
Can guests upload inappropriate photos?+
Spekto has AI moderation that automatically flags or blocks inappropriate content — photos, video, text and voice messages. You can also enable pre-approval so you review everything before it appears in the feed.
Does the wall display work without internet?+
The wall display needs internet for real-time updates. But it works fine over mobile data — you don't need WiFi at the venue. Tip: connect a laptop to the projector and use your phone as a hotspot.
Does Spekto support video?+
Yes. Guests can upload video (up to 100 MB). Video is automatically transcoded to H.264 for universal playback, with thumbnails and autoplay in the feed.
What about privacy and GDPR?+
All data is stored on a dedicated server in Norway. Guests can delete their own photos. Consent mode can be enabled per event. Full privacy policy at spekto.live/privacy.
Can I customise the look and feel?+
Yes. You can choose a primary colour, and with Spekto Pro you get access to visual themes — party, wedding, corporate, graduation and more — each with its own colours, animations and atmosphere.
